Ideal Org Update

Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth ideal org building is one of those buildings that was purchased years ago and remains unoccupied.

According to some reports the local OT Committee requested that the building be sold and another found in a more suitable location. Elmien Lochner has told several people that this building is on the cards to be sold. It is located in the downtown area of Port Elizabeth and although the area has gone through something of resurgence in recent times, the reality is that white middle-class Port Elizabeth will not go to that area. And the make up of the Port Elizabeth field and OT Committee (a combined 60 or so people) is decidedly middle-class white.

At any rate, this is the org as it is today:

pe1 PE2To be honest this actually seems rather pleasant. It is located less than 2 kilometers from the ideal org building but it is up the hill and far more suburban. Very small but pleasant. This is pretty much the size PE org has been for the last 30 years. Generally 5-15 staff over this time period. Small. Sort of Port Elizabeth sized. It is supposed to move from the above to this:

The body traffic is far better but 8 stories of building to fill with staff and public?

Cape Town

The staff, public and OT Committee of Joburg North are breathing sighs of relief as the attention has shifted from buying their building to renovating and opening Cape Town. 6 years ago it was announced that “Africa is the first continent with all ideal buildings purchased!” This was at the time that Joburg North was going to become a city office of Joburg Org. That changed and for the last 5 years the effort to buy Joburg North’s building has been on going but has so far been fruitless. Fundraiser after themed fundraiser have consumed the attention and time of the Joburg North public and staff. Focus though has switched to getting Cape Town to a “done”. This is particularly good news for people like Philip Park although I’m sure it won’t be long before the Capetonians come calling for help.

So brace yourself Cape Town, they’re coming!

A Sea Org team has arrived in Cape Town!
It’s happening!
A three-man team recently arrived in Cape Town with the purpose of completing the renovations budget fundraising for the Ideal Org buildings. With Sea Org experience totalling twenty five years between them, they are charging forward with the Cape Town Staff team towards the goal of OPENING OUR IDEAL ORG!
Stephen Smith has been in the Sea Org for ten years, having served as the Executive Director for Port Elizabeth Org for eight. However, before joinging the Sea Org he worked on Cape Town Org Staff for six years between 1987 and 1993, and then another year between 1997 and 1998. In short, he knows his stuff when it comes to orgs and service.
Kimberlee Howarth has been in the Sea Org for seven years and has worked in many different areas – most prominently Event Organising and Preparation. Her experience in the Events Section is rivalled only by a few in the Scientology world in Africa. She is particularly skilled in making events FUN and ENJOYABLE, while at the same time raising funds for Ideal Orgs.
Sebastian Howarth has been in the Sea Org for eight years. With experience in the promotion and marketing fields, he has been running the PR section for Ideal Orgs in Africa. Using LRH tech on promotion and marketing, the campaigns he runs are successful.
The African Ideal Orgs team (the three mentioned above) were working on the Johannesburg North Ideal Org campaign to buy the last building Africa needs to be the first continent to own all of its Ideal Org properties. They were sent here by direction from International Management to complete the Cape Town Ideal Org!
Johannesburg North is still rolling on its campaign, with two other Sea Org members there to continue the team’s actions – and WE got the best because WE are going to be the next Ideal Org to open in Africa!
No, we aren’t kidding – through the team’s hard work and your’s WE ARE NEXT!
Stephen Smith: 081 2704768 –
Kimberlee Howarth: 076 792 3796 –
Sebastian Howarth: 079 500 9692 –

In addition to this the entire command team is Cape Town bound. (remember the ones that arrived in South Africa at the end of October in a blazing trail of destruction with the declaration of the initial Joburg 18). They’re giving a briefing this weekend to the CT field.

This can only be in response to the independent Scientology activity happening throughout the province since we also hear the OSA Team have been active down there trying to figure out how to “terminatedly handle” the problem of the independents.

  1. Great! Nothing like a good old Ideal Org campaign to make the “Scientologists gone independent” stat go straight up and vertical! It really is a great campaign for expansion of the independent field.

  2. With regards to The Port Elizabeth Org, who is Elmien Lochner?
The Ideal Org Strategy was sold to me as an org which would attract new people and scientologists due to its space and effective staff. If the Port Elizabeth Ideal Org building needs to be disposed of due to the “incorrect” foot traffic, then is it not an admission of failure of the Ideal Org Strategy?
This there really an independent field operating in Cape Town? I have not hear of them

      • Elmein demoted? Now there’s a surprise; or maybe not considering mgmt’s long-standing penchant for random acts of destruction….
Elmien was a really really cool person years ago when I interacted with her; I liked that person a lot. I shudder to think what she might have become. What post was she demoted to? And what about Peach Bokelman? Haven’t heard a peep out of her for years, she used to spam my email inbox with Ideal Org crap till I took measures to disappear her mails.

      • Although demoted she is still in finance “running” the various church properties. She does continue to do her bit for fundraising. Word is she is marrying (or perhaps already has) the new IAS rep.

Peach has left the country with Robert. Sadly she has been terribly ill and we hope it is not serious.

      • Is that “left the country” as in “blew”, “routed out” or “got posted somewhere else?”
Robert and I signed up around the same time, he and I usually got along just fine. He regged me for my Basics package and now that I think about it, he totally dropped the Sea Org valence when he saw the bike I’d just bought in the driveway…. the real Robert shone through and I could see he really missed the bike he gave up years before.
On the whole, I think I was lucky – all these folks I have fond memories of, other folks report them as being complete pigs later on. Sad. Seems like my strategy of being a dilletante Scn who stayed on the fringes and never went all in was the right one after all.

      • A couple of years ago, Peach opted to go to Flag for training as an auditor, something she said she’d always wanted to do. She duly replaced herself on her Ideal Org manager post but her replacement blew and she was brought back to South Africa to take her post back. Sometime after that, she became ill. I don’t know what her status on that is currently. She may have been able to go back to Flag to resume her training as an auditor – for South Africa, hopefully. Senior orgs have a habit of ripping off staff from the lower orgs.
Robert Bokkelmann is supposed to be overseas (at Flag now) recruiting for the South African AO. However, there has been absolutey no news about any of his new recruits. The church being known to boast at every opportunity and not having done so on this situation, I suspect there are no recruits and he’s either been pulled off post for aFlag post or been relegated to The Hole. No SO member has choices about where they’re posted, no preferences are usually taken into account. Robert is conspicuous by his absence.

    • Most independants in cape town are happy to ignore the world of Cof $. Moving up the bridge outside, is the primary priority. This I agree with. But there will always be some interest in the outside soap! Why not? The topics and comments offer cuisine for consumption at just the right R for my taste, yum!

  3. Is it my imagination or do Stephen and Kimberlee look more chummy than is absolutely necessary? Maybe its the look on their faces that screams out, “Oh god, do we have to do this AGAIN??”

    • Sebastian looks a happy boy though! Every time he does his jolly somersaults at these ‘fun’ Cape Town events he’ll get a whole packet of cigarettes! Circus monkeys have better prospects (and employers).

  4. Well all I can say is Capetonions Brace yourself and buckle up.
You can expect a bumpy ride!
Those that do not contribute will be subjected to Ethics!
I think this is great -best PR for us and Bad PR for them.
Expecting our numbers on the blog to increase.
Wish Peach well but she has gone PTS because of her own
overts on the field and PTS to The One and only COB!
I remember her from when she was a little girl!
    Bright and full of fun!
Not the person I have heard such bad stories about!
The sad thing is she is doomed – she will not be able
to confront who the real SP is!

  5. I think what we have learned from the Bulawayo experience is that COB is 100% correct when he says “If you build it they will come.” Now the CoS just needs to re-align the postulate to get a truly desirable result rather than a stat with STD’s!
If I may offer some humble advice…… a good start would be to stop pissing off, bankrupting, and declaring the public that exist (and thereby eliminating the constant need for “recoveries”), stop pushing people down the bridge and rather let them go UP (!) and start delivering what has been promised. This would be a start. Buildings are something needed at the end – if the CoS can get the beginning bits right first.

  6. Regarding Port Elizabeth, do any of you know Corine Deakin? We were friends : I met her in St-Hill UK many years ago, and she visited me in France after. Is she still in and doing alright ?
    Thanks in advance.

    • Florence
Corine Deakin is still very much in. I got some promo the other day from PE org, where-in she was praising the new student hat course which she is on.
I heard via another that she had a terrible motor bike accident some two years back now, where she injured her leg/ankle, which took the better part of two years to recover.

  7. The Independents and their actions are not a “problem”; we are doing fine, auditing, training, living and doing well. There is nothing to handle. Thus, it is a WRONG TARGET.
The correct target is to handle the abuses of staff and public and the unrelenting fund raising for buildings that are empty and which moneys go to the pockets of DM. That needs handling.

  8. I see Ideal Org Donations no different than any other stock market gamble. We are asked to fund an idea, no contract details except legal protection documents for the benefit of the church exist. If it doesn’t pan out, you lose, DM/Landlord INT (or whatever CO$ Crap Table Dealer) pockets what you put into the pot and just walks off with it. Dreams, urgencies, necessities, and other PR pressure nonsense are presented to get you to part with your money under the pretense of saving a planet, but the consequences of your failed investment into any Scientology Future are never mentioned. The con has worn very thin.

  9. How big it the Cape Town field? I’ve always had the impression it’s not so big, small like Durban’s? Who are the big donors there? Do they have any? Will it be the Joburg donors who will be pestered and pressured again to dig deep into their pockets as usual?
Who is the ED there now? Who is the ED at PE now that Stephen Smith has left the post?

  10. that doesn’t sound good – ‘terminatedly handle’. I don’t even think it’s a word.
Even if they wanted to terminally handle the independants, the only choice is surrender. It’s like gravity, not going away any time soon.

  11. Terminatedly handle? Shame. You handle a sit or a problem. Us you just enjoy. Better luck terminatedly handling the tide or sunrise or trouble in the Middle East.
